MFB Products, which manufactures 19-inch data cabinets, has a consultative partnership with Maxitec to help it remain competitive.
According to MFB Products, the data cabinets are manufactured to an international standard, so it has to compete with other manufacturer across the globe.
Additionally, the relatively small population in Australia, and competition from imports assembled in low cost labour countries means its production has to be as lean as possible.
MFB Products claims its partnership helps it make good choices in technologies, time upgrades for optimum effect, and ensures thorough cost analysis beforehand.
The company operates two shifts a day, six days a week. For 16 years, it has been running a FINN-POWER TP hydraulic machine. The machine was recently retrofitted with an automatic load and unload system.
Recently, MFB Products commissioned an E5 Compact Express, replacing two other machines to decrease overhead while increasing output. With no hydraulics, the company says the machine is more reliable in hot and cold weather.
E5 Compact Express is a compact, high-performance servo electric turret punch press with fully automated material handling capabilities and is capable of bending, forming, tapping and marking.
